At Futuretalk 2025, we will take a forward-looking look at the
system-relevant role of private hospitals in the Austrian
healthcare system. Under the guiding theme "Living systemic relevance", leading experts from politics, ethics, constitutional law and the healthcare sector will discuss current and political developments that will have a lasting impact on the private healthcare sector.

Private hospitals are an indispensable part of efficient and patient-oriented care. With a focus on quality and diversity, they make a significant contribution to the further development of the healthcare system. Be part of our discussion with voices from politics, ethics and law and join us in providing impetus for the future of private hospitals!

"Private patients make an important contribution to relieving the burden on the healthcare system, which is financed on a solidarity basis. At present, a patient who goes down this route is worth less to the social insurance system than one for whom the public purse has to pay for everything. The demand for performance-oriented financing independent of the provider is therefore only logical and fair."

Maria Rauch-Kallat, MBA is now the owner of mrkConsult and mrk diversity management gmbh after more than 20 years in various political positions - including several times as Federal Minister, Member of the National Council and Secretary General of the Austrian People's Party.

Jürgen Wallner

Privatdoz. Dr. Jürgen Wallner, MBA, heads the ethics program of the Brothers of Mercy Austria. He habilitated in legal ethics at the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna and teaches there as well as at the Johannes Kepler University Linz.

Helmut Hörtenhuber

Hon. Prof. Dr. Helmut Hörtenhuber was a judge at the Austrian Constitutional Court (VfGH) from 2008 to 2024 and was a permanent member of the Supreme Court until the end of 2023.

Werner Fischl

Werner Fischl has been with Mavie Med (formerly PremiQaMed Group) for more than 25 years, including as Managing Director of Mavie Med Privatkliniken and Ambulatorium Döbling since 2012.

Peter Köppl

Dr. Peter Köppl is the founder and managing partner of Mastermind Public Affairs Consulting. He is one of Austria's leading public affairs experts with professional experience as a journalist, PR consultant, press spokesman and lobbying manager in industrial companies, chambers, associations and agencies.

Judith Leschanz

Judith Leschanz studied law and has been working in the field of data protection for more than 20 years. She has held several management positions at A1 in Austria and abroad and is currently A1's Data Protection Officer and Managing Director of Secur-Data Betriebsberatungs-Ges.m.b.H., Vice President of the EFDPO (European expert network of data protection officers) and Chairwoman of the Board of the Association of Austrian Data Protection Officers.

Monika Köppl-Turyna

Prof. Dr. Monika Irena Köppl-Turyna is Director of the Institute for Economic Research ECO Austria. She has also been a professor at Seeburg University in Seekirchen since 2023 and at the University of Warsaw since 2024.

Annette Leja

Annette Leja has been working at Privatklinik Kettenbrücke in Innsbruck since 1995, where she has held various management positions and has again been responsible as Managing Director and Administrative Director since January 2023. In 2021 and 2022, Annette Leja was State Councillor for Health, Care and Science in the Tyrolean state government.

Andreas J. Obrecht

Univ-Doz. Dr. Andreas J. Obrecht is a sociologist, development researcher, author, presenter of the ORF-Ö1 live program Punkt Eins and the program Im Gespräch, head of the Austrian Partnership Programme in Higher Education and Research for Development and head of the university cooperation network Africa UniNet.
