Who we are
The Association of Austrian Private Hospitals is a voluntary and independent lobby for legal entities and operators of private hospitals:
- Hospitals
- Rehabilitation facilities
- Nursing homes
in Austria that are not regional authorities.
The Association of Austrian Private Hospitals has been active since 1947 and represents one of the main pillars of the Austrian healthcare system. It is a non-profit organization. The Association of Private Hospitals is a member of the European Union of Private Hospitals (UEHP).
The association has its own collective bargaining capacity and is therefore a collective bargaining entity.
The members of the association cover almost the entire range of medical care. In addition, numerous preventative and alternative therapies are offered. All members represent the highest standards in terms of location, facilities, comfort, medical level and medical and nursing care.
The association's activities focus on the following areas:
- Cooperation and collaboration
Promotion of cooperation between private hospitals and cooperation with national, foreign and international associations, in particular the UEHP (European Union of Private Hospitals), as well as entering into cooperation with other interest groups and stakeholders - Organization and representation
Organization of meetings, lectures and events as well as participation in important health policy events and commissions - Evaluation
Observation of current developments in the healthcare sector and evaluation of national and international (primarily European) draft legislation and standards that are in the interests of members - Collective agreement
Conducting collective agreement negotiations as representative of the employer side and concluding collective agreements that are tailored to the needs of hospitals
