Austria's first private clinic with da Vinci Xi. From the end of July, Privatklinik Döbling will be using the latest generation of surgical robots for robot-assisted surgery.
From the end of July, robot-assisted surgery will be added to the existing range of surgical procedures at Privatklinik Döbling. "This is the next milestone in minimally invasive surgery," emphasizes Prof. Dr. Christian Kainz, Medical Director of the private clinic. "Robot-assisted systems enable extremely precise incisions and therefore smaller incisions, reduce blood loss and significantly shorten the patient's recovery time. In addition, the risk of complications such as infections and wound healing disorders is even lower." Overall, patients benefit from a gentler procedure and better aesthetic results.
In future, the system will primarily be used for interventions in the fields of urology, general surgery and gynecology. "We are delighted to now be able to offer our patients a robot system of the latest generation," says Kainz. "This method, combined with the high level of expertise of experienced surgeons, represents a significant advancement in surgical care."
Austria's first private clinic with da Vinci Xi
The da Vinci Xi system consists of a control console, a video trolley and a patient trolley with four individually controllable robotic arms. One of these arms guides a high-resolution 3D camera, which transmits a well-lit and highly magnified image of the surgical field to a video system. The other arms guide the surgical instruments, whose movements precisely follow the controlling hand movements of the surgeon at the console. The instruments are particularly fine and flexible, allowing complex procedures to be performed even in narrow anatomical areas. Privatklinik Döbling is the first private clinic in Austria to use this latest generation system.
