Nine months after the foundation stone was laid, the roof of the ultra-modern extension to the Döbling Private Clinic has now been completed. The planning of the new part of the building has already been awarded the klimaaktiv Gold Standard.
The Döbling Private Clinic will be expanded and extensively modernized by 2026 and will gain more space through an extension and conversion. The centerpiece is a five-storey extension to the clinic. The shell of the building has now been completed - just nine months after the foundation stone was laid.
Among the guests of honor at the topping-out ceremony were Daniel Resch (District Head of Döbling), Peter Eichler (Member of the Management Board, UNIQA Insurance Group), Martin Fuchs (Chairman of the Management Board, PremiQaMed Holding) and Johannes Tiefengraber (Division Manager Vienna/Lower Austria, Lieb Bau Weiz).
Christiane Windsperger, Managing Director of Privatklinik Döbling, emphasized in her short speech to the approximately 120 employees of the construction companies present: "From the laying of the foundation stone to the topping-out ceremony in exactly nine months - the extension was completed exactly on schedule, for which I would like to thank everyone involved for their excellent work in all weathers!" She also drew parallels with medical clinic operations: "Precision work is required here as well as there. While we were able to continue medical operations undisturbed in the clinic, the experts involved in the construction work allowed the basis for our modern future to grow floor by floor thanks to the most precise planning."
Opening of the new operating theaters in autumn 2024
More space for the maternity ward, ultra-modern operating theatres with natural daylight and more single rooms are key elements of the extension. A photovoltaic system, geothermal energy, green façade elements and a biodiversity garden ensure sustainability in the construction project.
Completion of the extension is planned for fall 2024. The first patients are expected to be operated on in the new operating theaters by then. Following the completion of this part of the building, further modernization work will follow in other parts of the building until 2026.
Extension awarded klimaaktiv Gold
In September 2023, the planning of the new building was awarded the klimaaktiv Gold Standard. klimaaktiv is the Austria-wide initiative of the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) for active climate protection. The focus is on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the areas of construction and renovation, renewable energy sources, transportation and municipalities. In addition to energy efficiency, the klimaaktiv quality label assesses and evaluates the quality of planning and execution, the quality of building materials and construction as well as key aspects of comfort and indoor air quality of a building. Only buildings in Austria that meet particularly high quality standards in these areas are awarded the klimaaktiv label.
Döbling Private Clinic
The Döbling Private Clinic in Vienna, a member of the PremiQaMed Group, offers a wide range of healthcare services together with the affiliated outpatient clinic and surgery center.
