Rum. There has recently been a change in the nursing management at the Hochrum Private Hospital. Dominic Span, BScN has been leading the nursing team at the private hospital since June 1, 2023. The new nursing director was selected in a multi-stage selection process.
Mr. Span moved from the Tirol Kliniken to the Privatklinik Hochrum. The 34-year-old was most recently head of the Special Ward 4A, Internal Medicine at the A.ö. State Hospital (University Clinics) Innsbruck. While working, he completed a degree in health sciences with a focus on the management of hospitals and non-profit organizations at the private university UMIT Tirol.
Mr. Span takes over a top-managed team consisting of 133 nursing staff from the previous nursing director Michaela Manzl, MSc BScN. Ms. Manzl will be responsible for quality assurance, therapeutic and medical services as well as patient services and has been co-opted into the collegial management team.
Mr. Span's motives include the challenge of further professionalizing nursing care and his fundamental interest in working at a private hospital. Above all, Mr. Span sees the interprofessional cooperation between doctors, nursing staff and the therapeutic professions as a means of constantly optimizing the already high quality of patient care.
