"International cooperation is not an option, but a necessity": Interview with Thomas Ebm, Managing Director of Wiener Privatklinik (WPK)

For Wiener Privatklinik (WPK), international networking is not just a strategic element, but an everyday reality. As one of the leading private clinics in Austria and the market leader in international patient tourism in Vienna, WPK has relied on partnerships with medical facilities abroad for years. In this interview, Thomas Ebm, Managing Director of the Vienna private clinic, talks about the importance of this international cooperation, current partnerships and the clinic's role as a pioneer in international patient care.

Why is international cooperation important for Wiener Privatklinik?

International cooperation has been a strategic foundation of Wiener Privatklinik for many years. We have been focusing on international patient tourism for over a decade - and are now the market leader in this area in Vienna. We benefit from Vienna's long-standing medical tradition: the city is historically known as the center of the second medical school and has earned a reputation in Central Europe and beyond.

Which international institutes or hospitals is Wiener Privatklinik currently working with?

Our focus is on Eastern Europe, where we work with a large number of medical facilities, clinics and referral centers. These partnerships are based on many years of trust and a clear common goal: to provide international patients with the best possible support.

How do international collaborations contribute to medical quality and innovation at the WPK?

International cooperation promotes professional exchange and opens up new perspectives for innovation and medical progress. International patients treated at Wiener Privatklinik primarily benefit from the expertise and highly trained doctors working at the private clinic. This is proven by various certificates. We have been one of the World's Best Hospitals for five years in a row. In addition, several of our doctors are among the top 2% of doctors worldwide according to a Stanford University ranking. This quality is no coincidence, but the result of constant further development, international networking and the aspiration to redefine medical excellence every day.

What motivates Wiener Privatklinik in particular to network internationally?

As a pioneer in the international medical tourism business, Wiener Privatklinik is very experienced and further cooperation can only contribute to the benefit of health and to strengthening Austria as a business location.
