The employees of the member companies of the Austrian Association of Private Hospitals can look forward to a coronavirus bonus of up to €500 and a 2.5% increase in all salaries and benefits under the collective agreement. Despite the coronavirus crisis and the resulting vacancies in many private healthcare facilities, the agreement with the vida trade union has been reached. Stefan Günther, chief negotiator and Secretary General of the association, is delighted with the fair agreement: "We have succeeded in striking a balance between the well-deserved remuneration of our employees on the one hand and the economic survival of as many of our member companies as possible!"
In addition to a 2.5% increase in collectively agreed salaries for all professional groups, the negotiating team of the Association of Austrian Private Hospitals and the vida trade union have agreed on the payment of a Covid bonus of up to €500 for a full-time medical employee. This means that nursing staff and doctors, who are in particularly high demand, will receive the maximum rate demanded by Vida. "Our employees do an extraordinary job every day. The appreciation for this should also be expressed in monetary terms," explains Günther. The collective agreement will come into force on 01.10.2020 and will apply until at least 30.11.2021. Two working groups will be launched in January 2021 to address the topics of "age-appropriate working" and "adapting schemes to reality" - two focal points that the private hospitals and the trade union would like to focus on in the future.
